MELOA dedicated the month of May to celebrate Citizen Science! We want to to create awareness towards the importance of such an approach in scientific research, though the promotion of articles, videos, and WAVY Test Campaigns involving the citizens. Citizen Science refers to the involvement of members of the general public in science, enabling participants to make a direct contribution to research. Such effort allows to expand opportunities for scientific data collection and to enable community members to deepen their knowledge about environmental issues. 

Among the several activities that we are conducting, MELOA wants to involve the citizens in the data collection, since we believe that citizen science can be a powerful tool to get meaningful marine data for research.
