Improving in situ data availability to better monitor our World Oceans

This World Oceans Day (8th June) let us remember that our World Oceans play a central role in our lives, and in situ data is key to get valuable marine data for research, policy and decision making! We need to keep investing in new innovative technologies and tools to gather marine in situ data.

In Europe, there are currently several initiatives aiming at fostering the growth of in situ data availability.
